Headband Made From Iron On Decals

I always find these awesome decals and beautiful trims when out at fabric stores. Im not one to add these things to my garments but I always end up buying them anyway. I love putting flowers in my hair and tats how this idea came to me.

You will need a headband, decals or trim, glue or needle and thread, creativity.

First take your decals and create the layout that you like best. For my headband I needed 4 decals.
Once you have your pattern created you can them glue the decals together or stitch them together. I chose to stitch mine because the areas to glue were very small and I wanted a stronger hold.

Then glue or stitch the flowers to the headband. Its that easy! I also stitches my flowers to the headband because the headband I chose was thin and I wanted the extra hold. When stitching I just made loops of stitches through the decal and around the headband to hold it in place.

A New Look For Puffy Paint Sweatshirts!

These Puffy Paint Sweatshirts Can Be Found At Any Local Thrift Store. My Personal Fav's Are The Cat Sweatshirt, But I Did Find This Great Strawberry Sweatshirt That Worked Out Perfect!

First Cut Both Sleeves Into A Cap Sleeve Leaving Extra Length To Roll The Hem

   Then Remove The Waistband

Now Remove The Collar Band. Fashion Your New Neckline To Your Own Taste. For Mine I Took The Neckline Down An Extra Inch So I Could Wear It Off My Shoulder.

Lastly, Roll The Sleeve Hem And Sew It Into Place. If The Sweatshirt Is Too Large You Can Always Sew Up The Side Seam. This Also Helps Make The Armhole Not So Gaping.

Thats It!

Tip: Because Sweatshirts Are Made From Jersey Knit, You Can Leave The Neckline And The Hem Unfinished. The Unfinished Edges Will Not Unravel Do To The Knit.

Great Autumn Accessories!

Its not quite boot weather yet, but skinny jeans with suede pumps seems appropriate. Thin leather gloves for the chilly evenings. Ditch the oversized beach bags for simple sexy clutches... now that we have jackets to put our phones and keys.

Vintage Fur! Ok or Not?

This may seem like a HAIRY subject but I would love to know your thoughts. I find that many people these days choose a more animal friendly state of mind when it comes to being a consumer... But what about the vintage stuff?

What I hope this blog will be

I just want to say thanks to anyone who is reading. I cant wait to share my love for everything vintage, rare and retro with you all. I hope that through this blog I can inspire an few and learn a ton. I, like many of you have been a collector for some time but there is so many amazing vintage things to explore. I look forward to sharing some of my favorite things. With you help, I hope that we can teach each other our knowledge of vintage.

About The Owner

My photo
I graduated from FSU with a degree in Apparel Design and combined my love for vintage with my love for dress making in youthanizeing vintage garbs. I have always had a passion for the eras before me since I can remember. The daughter of my father who collects and restores old classic cars and my mother who filled her home with the most fascinating antiques, I guess it just seemed natural.
